The general purpose of the Inside Sales Specialist is to maintain a sufficient pipeline in order for the Sales Managers to obtain their sales numbers. They will be responsible to follow up and qualify in a timely manner all leads that are generated by Marketing.

In addition, this individual will be responsible for identifying target market accounts and entering them into salesforce.com.
* Proactively pursue business-to-business lead generation through warm and cold call prospecting (required: 40-60 calls per day, 8-10 decision-maker conversations)
* Qualification and conversion of all inbound leads
Follow-up on leads generated by direct mail, trade shows and web site activities including qualification and conversion
* Prospecting and account qualification to add leads to the sales pipeline within the established territory.
* Identify contacts within target companies (employ effective account exploration and account mining tactics)
* Provide excellent customer service (handle all incoming information requests and sales calls promptly).
* Pre-event calling and post-event follow up
* Maintain accurate records (update information within contact management system/ database).
* Prepare and distribute information packages.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Collecting and qualifying incoming lead information according to the corporate key qualifiers. Introducing this information into the lead management system – Sales force and forwarding to the relevant SMs when appropriate.
• Completing the information in sales force through in-depth research on prospects and leads. Maintaining the information up-to-date throughout the several stages of lead management.
• Supporting and following-up Lead/Demand Generation activities organized by Marketing. This includes coordinating and attending seminars, trade shows, webinars, cold calling actions,
• Searching for new leads through Internet, media, subscriptions, new databases, partners, etc.
• Moving leads to sales opportunities by keeping in contact on a regular basis (calls, mail, visits) and updating the leads with new information (press releases, new products, invitations to events, etc). All activities should be reported in sales force
Requirements:
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving and self-motivational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment, as well as make independent decisions.

A tremendous opportunity has arisen as a result of our client in the US securing a deal with Sun Microsytems globally to provide them with a tailored sales development managed services to support their Account Managers with a proactive, highly focused lead generation and management service that delivers customer satisfaction to their existing customer base and maximises the opportunity for future business, if managed properly, within this valuable ongoing asset. The focus for the Sales Lead Generation and Management Service focuses on developing qualitative business opportunities for the Sun Account team. Rainmaker has selected Advanced Alchemy as their partners in parts of Europe and the UK to run this programme on their behalf in these regions.

An initial pilot phase (Phase 0) has been implemented as partly proof of concept but also as a basis for setting the terms and conditions for the future phases of the programme which will include risk/reward elements. The scope of the services provided encompass Inside Sales, Sales Support, and degree of Field Sales support made up of of both permanent and contract staff. the initial objectives will be to identify and qualify leads, create an initial Sales Funnel, making appointments for the Sun Account Managers and managing the overall sales cycle in order to free up a Sun Account Manager time to focus on developing profitable, value added sales. The contracted sales team will be targetted with conducting 10 customer calls a week to both new and existing customers. TAM's will have a remit to cover cover the full portfolio Sun products and services including systems, storage and professional services

Potential Scope of New Role

3 Key roles were identified in order to to deliver the programme:

The challenge now is to to scale this capability, these skills need to be replicated, developed monitored and managed to deliver the same quality of results throughout the scaling of the project.

The ongoing relationships and expectations need to be carefully managed between both Sun and Rainmaker, in order to maximise the opportunity for growth and ongoing success for Advanced Alchemy, and to manage the risks of both change and growth of the programme as it it develops to meet the needs of the overall contract objectives. This area is recognised to be one of the key critical success factors and on the critical path to delivering a successful and profitable programme.
